To become an Australian citizen, you need to meet the eligibility criteria set by the Department of Home Affairs. This includes:
Hold a permanent visa and have lived in Australia for at least 4 years, including the last 12 months as a permanent resident
Be of good character
Have a basic knowledge of English
Pass the Australian Citizenship test
